The Diploma in “Maternal-Fetal Hemodynamics” offers a specific education in ultrasound to evaluate the fetal and maternal (placental) hemodynamics. The Diploma combines theoretical and practical on-site training
Participants receive high-level education in ultrasound aimed to evaluate Maternal-Fetal Hemodynamic and its use in clinical practice
• To make participants update and improve their knowledge and skills in ultrasound hemodynamic evaluation, sampling the main and relevant maternal-fetal vessels/districts
• To understand the clinical significance of maternal-fetal hemodynamics evaluation in the assessment of fetal well-being
• To use 3D/4D technology for the evaluation of maternal-fetal hemodynamics
• To create shared space for experience and knowledge
Candidates can be:
• Obstetricians and gynecologists
• Residency trainers in obstetrics and gynecology
• Medical doctors
• Nurse/midwives with an interest in ob/gyn ultrasound
The theoretical and practical parts are focused on the following topics:
• Fetal growth, placental insufficiency and IUGR
• The stages of fetal hemodynamic failure: typical and atypical patterns
• Sampling techniques of placental vessels and interpretation of results
• Sampling techniques of fetal vessels and interpretation of results
• Management of clinical cases with alterations of maternal-fetal hemodynamics
• Assessment of fetal well-being during the first, second and third trimester of pregnancy
• Maternal-fetal hemodynamics in cases of isoimmunization
After attending the course and passing the final examination, the participants receive a diploma in “Maternal-Fetal Hemodynamics”
